Rescue FAQs

New Hope Pet Rescue was recently founded to rescue dogs (and occasionally cats) from the local animal control where they face euthanasia due to over-crowding.
Our organization consists of foster homes who generously devote their time and open their homes to homeless pets. Of course, we are always in need of such kind, generous individuals who are willing to open their homes and hearts as foster homes for animals in transit between the animal control and their eventual adoptive homes. Unfortunately, we are not always able to adopt pets out as fast as they are brought into the animal control (either as strays or surrenders). Thus, in order to keep up with the continuous influx of animals, we are always actively looking for any generous persons willing to foster the pets (usually dogs) and get them out of the animal control and give them a chance at being adopted.

Additional adoption info

Any person interested in adopting one of New Hope's dogs (or cats) should contact the New Hope by email at newhopepetrescue@aol.com. We will direct you to fill out the appropriate adoption application so that we may obtain some reference and contact information, as well as to arrange a meeting with the pet.

Following any initial meeting, we generally recommend a pre-adoption trial period wherein the pet and the prospective adopter(s) get to know each other. A trial adoption agreement is entered and such trial period generally last 1-2 weeks, or as long as the prospective adopter desires.

Should the adoption be finalized, there will be a fee required. If the dog or cat has not yet been spayed/neutered, we will schedule a spay-neuter appointment with a local low-cost clinic and will refund $100 of the adoption fee upon proof that the dog/cat has been spayed/neutered. All dogs/cats are provided with required shots before adoption.
