Rescue FAQs

Our dogs and puppies are primarily Sato's, rescued from Puerto Rico in the Rincon area (visit www.barksofhope.com).They are flown to Philadelphia airport, immediately vetted, and treated for internal and external parasites. All our animals are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. Puerto Rico has a terrible problem with unwanted dogs, litters are discarded on the side of the road, in trash cans, and dumped in the woods. If brought to a shelter, the kill rate is 94%. We are always looking for tourists and business people willing to carry on pups to get them out of a bad situation and into loving, forever homes.
Tri-state area (primarily NJ, PA), will adopt to qualified families in NY, CT, DE, MD
