Our Adoption Process...
If you would like to meet one of our lovable adoptable pets, please fill out the application completely. One of our adoption counselors will contact you. They review the application, contact vet and references. We will schedule a visit with you so you can meet the animals you are interested in. We do a home visit. We strive to find the perfect match for the animals and for you. We make every attempt to match prospective adopters with a pet that best fits the adopter.

Pitter Patter Animal Rescue, Inc. does not own a shelter facility. All of the animals are in private foster homes, they are shown by appointment only, after an application has been submitted. If the animal is going to an event you are welcome to come and meet them. If the foster is available they will contact you for a meet a greet. We ask that you be within 50 miles of 53170. We serve Illinois and Wisconsin. (Grayslake area)

Adoption Process...

How to start the process: Contact us by email or fill out an application which is located at pitterpatteranimalrescueinc.org The applications must be complete in order to be processed. You will be asked to fill out an application that will ask for personal information about your family, your home and about the kind of pet you're looking for An adoption counselor will return your message within 1-3 days. Once you return the application, an adoption counselor will call you back for a more thorough interview, Sometimes it may take a little longer as we're all volunteers and sometimes it gets very busy. Assuming the pet you're interested in appears to be a match for you, a meeting will then be set up. Your welcome to come to events for a meet and greet.

Pitter Patter Animal Rescue Inc., is a no-kill, 501 c 3, not for profit, foster based, no breed specific animal rescue. We are people working together to make a difference, to focus on saving animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We are group of volunteers dedicated to saving and enhancing the quality of lives, that these animals so deserve. Our policy includes the specification that no healthy, pet-worthy animal be euthanized, and to get them to their 4-ever loving home to call all their own. The adoption fees do not cover the significant costs involved, which include traveling to pick up an animal in need, providing veterinary care, vaccinations, spayed or neutered, giving them any training necessary, and helping to socialize and feed them. Pitter Patter Animal Rescue, Inc is all volunteers and survives on donations and adoption fees.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
