Warren County Animal Control's fundamental duty is to serve the citizens of Warren County, to enforce animal laws and regulations mandated by the State of Illinois and the County of Warren, to protect the human population from animals to the extent that health and safety require and to diligently prevent the inhumane and malicious treatment of any living animal.

Shelter FAQs

We serve County of Warren in Illinois, which includes the villages of Roseville, Kirkwood, Little York. Also, we house dogs from the City of Monmouth and the Village of Alexis in our shelter.

Additional adoption info

There is no adoption fee. But, you must sign a contract to adopt from us. The requirements in the adoption contract are the dog/cat must be spayed or neutered, given a rabies inoculation, and microchip within thirty days. We sell microchips at our shelter, so there is a $15.00 microchip fee to be paid at the time of adoption.
