Our mission statement is "To promote animal welfare through education, enforcement, housing, and adoptions." As a department, we strive to achieve compliance with state law and local ordinance.
This shelter is a county organization which operates 100% on revenues raised at the shelter. This revenue comes from many sources, including licensing fees, adoption fees, return to owner fees, and fines levied in court for ordinance violations. Our shelter investigates animal complaints, cruelty complaints, and general nuisance complaints. Other services include impoundment of stray animals, adoptions and public education through school talks and community seminars.
