Rescue FAQs

Due to the growing popularity of the Cavalier we felt there was a growing need for a local Cavalier Rescue in AZ. Because of our love for the breed we decided to start AZ Cavalier Rescue in 2008. Since 2008 we have placed several dozen Cavaliers as well as fostered and have placed Cavaliers for other rescues such as www.LuckyStarCavalierRescue.org. We have also taken in English Toy Spaniels and numerous Cavalier mixes. We always could use donations like any other rescue most of our funds come from the adoption fees and a lot of times those do not cover the vet costs for the ill and genetically flawed Cavaliers we get in.
AZ Cavalier Rescue has been taking care of unwanted and stray Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, English Toy Spaniels and mixes since 2008. We have a large network of volunteers and friends across the nation. Occasionally one of those friends will rescue a Cavalier, English Toy or mix in their home town and we will list that dog and find it a home.

Additional adoption info

We do require an adoption application be filled out before the potential adopter meets the Cavalier. If it appears to be a good match we will do a home inspection, request a vet reference and if all goes well we will finalize the adoption.

Adoption fees range from $100 to $600 depending on the age and any known medical issues.
