Shelter FAQs

The City of Peru Animal Control & Care (City PACC) will take care of lost and stray dogs in the City of Peru. While we do not normally take owner surrendered dogs, we will use our resources to help you find a home for your pet. We will provide a safe environment for the dogs of the City of Peru, until we place them in a forever home!!! We do not euthanize for length of stay.
Our facility serve those within the city limits of Peru, Indiana.

Additional adoption info

Those interested in adopting must -Complete an application (includes any other pets currently in the home plus information on your vet). -Pay an Adoption Fee that is generally $65.00. -Most pets are spayed/neutered before leaving our facility. -In the event they are not, the adopter agrees to spay/neuter within 45 days (if the animal is of age). We work with HOPE Transport of Ft Wayne which will pay/neuter for $60-$70 depending on the sex and size of the animal. -Agree to ensure the animal has his/her free wellness check through Miami County Vet Clinic within 2 weeks. At that time, the animal will be made current on the rabies vaccination as well.
