Rescue FAQs

WV Pet Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue organization that was started in February 2012 and is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers. We pull dogs from high kill shelters in WV and PA, and we also help place owner surrenders to try and keep them from entering kill shelters. All of our pets are in foster homes as we DO NOT have a facility. Our adoption fees are $160 for puppies, and you are required to have them spay/neutered when age-appropriate, and adults are fully vetted and their fee is $210. If interested in adoption, please email wvpetinc@yahoo.com for an application
We are located in Morgantown, WV, and most of our adopters are located between the Morgantown and Pittsburgh, PA areas. We also do some other out-of-state adoptions, as long as the family is willing to travel to our area for a meet and greet.

Additional adoption info

More information about our adoption process and our contract can be found on our website at www.wvpetinc.org

•Adopters must be at least 21 years of age and complete an adoption application which requires a vet reference and two personal references, and pay the $10 application processing fee.

•Puppy adoption fees are $160 and our contract requires that you pay to have them spay/neutered at the age your vet recommends. They will be wormed, have their first set of vaccinations, and be microchipped.

•The adoption fee for dogs that are fully vetted is $210. That includes spay/neuter, up-to-date on vaccinations, wormed, and microchipped.

•Senior dogs are available at a reduced rate that will be determined by the circumstances.

•It can take up to 7 days for your application to be approved as we are volunteers and sometimes there is a delay in contacting vet references or personal references.

•In the event that we receive several applications for one dog, we will choose the family that is the best fit. We will also try to match the remaining families with other dogs that would be a good fit for their lifestyles.
