Grassroots Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer rescue that works to rescue dogs in need in North Mississippi by rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing dogs that have been overlooked in shelters or are in danger of being euthanized. We also work to rescue dogs from local communities in need.
Grassroots Animal Rescue of Mississippi, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit organziation. GAR is also a recognized as a non-profit in good standing in by the State of Mississippi. All of your contributions are tax-deductible.

Grassroots is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a shelter; instead all of our animals are in foster homes. We serve mostly North and Central Mississippi.

- An adoption coordinator will contact you to set up a meeting after the application has been processed.
- Meet the Pet
- Once your application is on file, we are happy to set up a time for you to meet the pet in Starkville, MS. We do not have a shelter facility
- Take the Pet Home
- An adoption coordinator will go over the steps to finalize the adoption via email before we coordinate a meeting.

You can also complete our preliminary application at www.tiny.cc/garapp. Once your application is processed, an adoption coordinator will contact you via email to set up a meeting with the animal(s) you are interested in. All of our meetings take place in Starkville, MS.
