About Pitty Rescue - A non-profit Rescue Organization

Welcome to Pitty Rescue, Inc, a non-profit Pit Bull rescue and pet care education organization. This rescue was established Jeff and Diana Coltenback in April 2010 after 10 years of private rescue work. Since 2000, we have been fostering, rehabilitating and re-homing homeless animals, specifically Pit bulls and Pit Bull type dogs. We have been directly or indirectly responsible for re-homing thousands of animals; mostly dogs, but also cats, snakes, lizards, bunnies, gerbils, birds and much more. We also provide low cost training to rescues and shelters.

Over the years, due to resources and space, we were only able to house one dog at a time; two on a temporary basis. And, one of our many dreams is to have a Pit Bull sanctuary. So, it was finally time to get on track towards making our dream a reality. Initially, Pitty Rescue, Inc will only be able to house 3-5 dogs at a time, depending on size and temperament. But, hey, it's a start. With your help, our dream will come true and together we will save many wonderful Pit Bulls. Please support this or any rescue you can. About Pitty Rescue, Inc

Founder & Director; Jeff Coltenback

I have been saving Pit Bulls since 2000. I met my first Pit Bull in 1992. His name was Odin. He was one of the best dogs I have ever known. Of course, he was an American Pit Bull Terrier. Since them, I have always tried to educate people on the true nature of this wonderful breed.

My wife and I have used our own money and home to save these wonderful animals. Sure it’s great to save one dog at a time. But, now it’s time to step it up and save more at a time. For those of you who do not know me, please visit http://www.paradisepet.net/aboutus.html to learn more about me.

Please keep in mind I do own a Pet store. But, I have never and will NEVER sell dogs or cats. The core of my business is nutrition and behavior and selling natural pet products that promote the health and well-being of our pet companions.

Pitty Rescue, Inc's adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Bloomfield, NJ.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
