Additional adoption info
Adopting from Edgewood Animal Shelter is a very simple process. We are a first come, first served basis, unless otherwise noted. If you see an animal on Adopt a Pet, our Facebook Page, or other websites that are available for adoption and you are interested in making a forever companion, contact us. Come by our shelter during business hours. A meet and greet with the animal is available at our location. Once you have chosen an animal from our location, and compatibility as been determined, we require the completion of an adoption contract with your individual information and the entire pet's information appearing on it. You will be required to pay a designated fee as established with our Edgewood town and shelter Ordinance 2018-06 Exhibit A, "Schedule of Fees". Standardly, our adoption fee includes a one-year rabies vaccination, sterilization (as required by law), and a coupon given to you for a "wellness check" at one of our local veterinarians. Some exceptions are made in cases where, due to age limitations for the sterilization and rabies shot process. In this event, a sterilization fee will be charged at the adoption, until proof of shots and sterilization can be verified at an assigned date, where required. Microchipping is available for any animal for $15.00.
