Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    View our website for our latest adoption processes and available animals and then submit an application if you see an animal of interest.
  2. Approve Application
    Applications are screened to find the best match for the adoptable animals.
  3. Interview
    Successful applicants will be called for a phone interview.
  4. Meet the Pet
    Set an appointment to come to the shelter for a meet and greet and to complete the adoption.

Additional adoption info

Our Adoption Centre is currently closed to the public, but we have implemented a limited contact adoption process.

Due to COVID-19, Peterborough Humane Society has introduced a low contact adoption process. Please read through the adoption guidelines outlined below prior to reaching out to us to help keep you and our team safe.
