Rescue FAQs

Our mission at Buddy Rescue Foundation is to operate as a safety net for special needs animals that are overlooked at shelters lacking the resources to treat them and provide the animals with the necessary care, medical treatment and socialization to rehabilitate them and ultimately place them in permanent loving environments. We have rescued hundreds of ill or injured animals who were often within hours of euthanasia at shelters and provided them the medical care to get healthy to be adopted into loving forever homes.
Buddy Rescue Foundation is an all-animal rescue organization based in Berks County, PA, serving the Eastern US, primarily in PA, SC, NC, VA and NJ. Buddy Rescue was established to provide for the rescue, support and placement of abandoned or special needs animals in need of a home, basic care and medical treatment.

Additional adoption info

The Buddy Rescue Foundation adoption process begins with an adoption application that looks for basic information on home and family environment, pet preferences, history and information about other pets and for vet and personal references. When reviewed and approved, a home visit is set up and we generally will bring the adoptable animal along so the potential adopter can meet and see them in the home environment. If we and potential adopter decide to move forward with an adoption, an adoption agreement will need to be signed with payment of the adoption fee, which is generally $300 and paid at the time of adoption.
