Rescue FAQs

Hug a Pug AZ is a not-for-profit organization committed to the rescue of pugs and pug mix dogs in Southern Arizona, that for some reason or another have become homeless. By rescuing these dogs, we can prevent unnecessary euthanasia. Most of the pugs rescued do not have any behavioral or medical issues, however some animals are better suited for certain homes. We are a group of volunteers in Tucson, AZ who pay our rescue costs out of our own pockets... we love what we do and want to place the animals in the optimum environment. Our team is dedicated to finding a forever home for every pug.

Additional adoption info

We are run solely by volunteers who foster our rescues, and we do home checks frequently to make sure our foster homes are "Pug Proofed" which as you know can be a big task and difficult to keep up with! If you choose to re-home your little one we will be glad to send a volunteer our to meet her and possibly pick her up. We have an extensive application process and do several home checks and trial visits on all potential adoptive pug parents. We also partner with PACC so we can find out if a potential adoptive pug parent has adopted and returned or surrendered animals to the "pound".

Should you wish to proceed let me know and either I or one of our fosters will and meet with you and your pug. We pride ourselves on cautious placement and our goal is always to save pugs and get them the Forever homes they deserve!
