Rescue FAQs

We have lost our lease. We are hoping to get all the pets that have not been adopted before we have to vacate into foster homes. Pets4Luv Foundation is a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit animal rescue. Our organization is 100% volunteer based with no paid employees or board members. All of our funding comes from private donations; we receive no government funding to run our organization. Pets4Luv is no-kill rescue, which means we will never euthanize an animal for space. Our rescue is located in The Mall at the Source, 1504 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY 11590. Pets4Luv is an all breed dog and cat rescue with our primary focus being on the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of those animals that are injured, ill, disabled, and other types of special need, whether it is a temporary condition or a lifelong one. We also focus on the education of these companion animal illnesses, medical conditions and disabilities to help dispel the misconceptions about these conditions. We hope, with this information more readily available to the public, to increase the chances of “non-perfect” animals finding their loving, forever family. We are working on trying to place animal rescue in malls to educate people that they have options other than pet stores to find their next dog or cat. Unknown to the buyers, these stores commonly sell poorly bred, improperly cared for, unhealthy and neglected animals. The high visibility of being in a mall environment gives us the opportunity to provide information about rescued animals to people who normally would not visit an animal rescue or shelter. By making information easily available Pets4Luv hopes to create a more informed and educated community that will help change the myths, misconceptions, and information that allows inhumane and outdated beliefs, practices and laws to continue. Some of Pets4Luv’s other focuses: Having a fund to help offset medical costs for responsible, loving pet owners who are unable to afford it and eliminate needless euthanization. Offering pet food pantry services for those owners in need. Providing information and education on the care, well-being and responsibility we, as people, have towards our animals. To enlist as many Veterinarians and Animal Emergency Hospitals to work together to provide affordable medical care for companion animals. Offering classes for younger individuals on the problems, care, responsibility and interactions with animals. TNR (Trap/Neuter & release) to try and control the overpopulation and health problems with feral cats in our communities. For more information or to become a part this organization please contact Pets4Luv Foundation at 516-832-8200 or email: info@pets4luv.org. You can also find us on Facebook: Pets4Luv Foundation.
