Rescue FAQs

I am a retired individual who has always taken stray animals off the street and either found or gave them a home. I live in a community were there are so many abandoned dogs with no place to go. I have slowly built up my home to be able to provide a safe, loving environment for 20 dogs. My goal is to take them in, provide medical care, food, get spayed or neutered, and love until a permanent home can be found.
The Safehouse serves the Llano/Burnet County. We take in the Lost, Found, and Abandoned dogs in our area and provide them with a safe, loving environment until a fur-ever home can be found. We also take in dogs from other rescues in the area that are full and needed a space for another abandoned dog.

Additional adoption info

There is no set fee for our dogs. Our hopes are to be able to receive what it cost to spay or neuter the dog. We do accept donation and they are appreciated.
The process to adopt a dog is simple. 1.A contract application must be completed. 2. After review of the application a meet and greet time will be set that is convenient for all parties. 3.A home check will be provided by either someone from the Safehouse or one of the other rescues in the area. 4. A trial period will be given to be sure that the right family member has been chosen. 5. If one thru 4 all goes well then your new family member will move in and you take on all responsibility.
