Rescue FAQs

Buckeye's Mission is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless, abandoned, neglected, abused and medically-in-need dogs and cats. These animals are rehabilitated and trained and then re-homed.
Buckeye's Mission is a 2.5 acre property that serves as a permanent home for those rescued dogs not fortunate enough to find their own forever homes and for those undergoing rehabilitation and training to be rehomed.

We have recently started a cat rescue program. However it is foster based and the cats are not going to be located in our Brunswick facility.

Our property is in Brunswick, Ohio however we serve many communities within a 100 mile radius.

Additional adoption info

For adoption information, please email us at buckeyethepittie@gmail.com or message us at https://www.facebook.com/BuckeyeMissionSanctuary/

We respond faster if you email us, rather than calling us.

Meet and Greet with our adoptable dogs are by appointment only. An application must be completed prior to the meet and greet. The application gives us some background information on the family. It enables us to do compatibility screenings to match you up with the best fit dog and vice versa. Some of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes. Meet and greets will be at our sanctuary unless it is in the best interest of the dog to meet at the foster home. To meet any of our adoptable dogs please email your application to buckeyethepittie@gmail.com to set up an appointment. Please note that submitting an application for a dog does not guarantee that you will be approved to adopt that dog. Buckeye's reserves the right to approve or reject any application, for any reason, including but not limited to, judgement of the application, home situation, routine, safety, health, or the dog not being compatible to the applicant. Furthermore, there may be other applicants for the same dog. The best match for the dog and applicant will be made, regardless of order of application received or meet conducted. Adoption fees range from $350-$500 (more, on some occasions and less, if the dog has sponsorship). It covers core vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and spay/neuter surgery.
