Rescue FAQs

Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like-minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi. PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites. Please contact us if you would like to help foster, transport, fundraise or volunteer.
We generally adopt to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Canada. Most of our dogs come from MS.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee $475. All dogs/pups will be spay/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate shots, wormed, on flea/tick/heartworm preventative
