Areas One by One Friends of Animals serves
We primarily rescue animals from the Claremore Oklahoma Animal Shelter, but when space allows will pull animals from other Oklahoma shelters.

Meet the Pet

Submit Application
This can be done in combination with Step 1.

Sign Adoption Contract
Typically done in combination with Step 2

Approve Application
If the foster home is present, can be done in combination with Steps 2 and 3.

Home Check
For all American Pit Bull Terriers home check is mandatory. For all other animals for adoption it is at the discretion of the foster home.

Pay Fee
Can be combined with Step 5.
7.
Take the Pet Home
Can be combined with Step 6. For animals where a home check is required, the animal will be left in your care at the time of the home check

We have a simple questionnaire that needs to be filled out and a one page adoption contract that needs to be signed.
The normal adoption fee for dogs is $100 and the normal adoption fee for cats is $75. On occasion we will participate in national adoption promotions which will reduce those fees from time to time.

Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
