CCAS supports programs & services that save animals lives. We take in animals surrendered by the public,or stray & abandoned animals found in Clay County. It is our primary mission to offer refuge, nourishment, medical care, & to find a loving forever home for every healthy & treatable animal in our care.
The Clay County Animal Shelter serves local people & their pet companions. Donation dollars provide benefits & services to animals & their guardians here at Clay County Animal Shelter, Inc.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. Come see us and we will show you all our animal or you can view them here or on our facebook page.
  2. Submit Application
    1. Our organization requires that you complete a pre adoption questionairre to help us find the right pet for you.
  3. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Once you have found your new friend and all is approved, you are ready to sign the adoption contract , pay the adoption fee, and head home.
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
  5. Pay Fee
    1. Our adoption fee is $100 for a cat and $120 for a dog. Currently, only cash, check, Venmo, or PayPal are accepted forms of payment.
  6. Take the Pet Home
    1. Congratulations on your new best friend!!!

Adoption Fees
The regular adoption fee for a cat is $95. For a dog $115.
To make your adoption speedy, please bring the following items with you:
• Picture ID with your current address
• Notarized letter of permission from landlord
• Proper form of payment (cash or check)
All adoptions include spay/neuter, rabies & age appropriate vaccines.
