Shelter FAQs

We are a private non-profit animal welfare organization located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. OCHS provides a safe and warm facility to over 1000 pets a year. We have over 100 animals every day are in our care at the Adoption Center. We are dedicated and strive to improve the welfare of pets in and around Oneida County.

Additional adoption info

1. Adoption application must be completed.
2. Adoption review and placement is made by staff with best fit for animal as the goal.
3. Fees (sales tax not included):
Puppy: $150, Kitten: $50
Adult dog: $100, Adult cat: $15-50
4. Adoption contract required; includes requirement to return pet to OCHS if no longer wanted/cannot keep.
