Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
  2. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Our adoption contract requires you to take care of the pet and agree to return to our shelter if the pet doesn't fit your situation.
  3. Pay Fee
    1. Our standard adoption rates are $150 for puppies (6 mos and under) $90 for dogs and $70 for cats.
  4. Take the Pet Home
    1. and receive more love than you can imagine!

Colleton County Animal Shelter offers pets for adoption to the public. You don't have to be a Colleton resident to adopt from our shelter. Our adoption process is welcoming and simple; meet our pets, work with our team to find the best match for your lifestyle, complete our adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, take home your new best friend!
Puppy Adoption Fee $150 (6 mos and under)
Dog Adoption Fee $90
Cat Adoption Fee $70
