Rescue FAQs

Animals Are Our #1 Priority! Our Mission Since our founding in 2000, Rock 'N Pawz has been passionately committed to rescuing, treating, and rehousing animals in safe, caring, permanent homes with qualified parents who love and adore them. We pride ourselves on being one of the most compassionate pet adoption organizations in Southern California. And, we are determined to make an impact through dedication, fresh ideas, and vital action along every touchpoint of our core and non-core activities which include, rescue, adoption, catch & release, and spay & neuter. We also partner with other rescues, celebrity pet foundations, and other organizations that help us in caring for our rescues in a variety of ways. While our primary mission is to help animals most in need, as part of our work, we also raise funds and public awareness about the pressing issues animals face in today’s society and promote initiatives that serve the animals who need them most. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a measurable difference. Rock 'N Pawz Rescue is a 501(c)(3) headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and an Adopt A Pet.com-approved rescue.

Additional adoption info

Please Read our adoption process.

All animals are available and will be removed once adopted. (If you see a dog or cat on Adopt A Pet they are available.

Adoption Process:
1. Visit our website @ www.rocknpawzrescue.com fill out our application. (please do not send adopt a pet inquiry) we are working volunteers and not able to respond while at work.

2. If you RENT make sure a letter from your landlord is included that lets us know you can have pets and if there are any breed restrictions.
We will not process or contact you without it.

3. Once your application is submitted it is reviewed. The approved applications will have meets scheduled.

4. Meets are an opportunity to ask questions and interact with them in a playful manner (Do not reprimand, check their teeth, ears or pick them up). REMEMBER they do not know you and such behavior on your part can get them upset. They are living beings not objects please treat them with respect.
We do not do meets for cats as it is very stressful for them.

6. Once a meet is completed we review and setup home checks. Home checks are safety checks to ensure the safety of the animal. We will be checking fences, doors etc.
Please understand that if a home isn't safe we will not be able to adopt.

Remember because we are working with animals sometimes appointments may need to be rescheduled.

Our animals safety is our priority.
We are a volunteer based rescue organization.

Thank you
