Posey is currently our tiniest rescue pup at about 5 lbs (expected to be about 8 - 10 lbs when full grown)..but the love and companionship that she puts out there is huge in its scope! Posey, at about 5 months old, is one of those girls that absolutely loves females and children. It's not that she doesn't like men...Posey just appears to have a special spot for women. Once she gets to know a kind male...while initially shy, she definitely grows to love them as well. Posey is overjoyed at spending time with anyone, however, who is kind and respectful - and once she's over her initial shyness...she loves nothing more than being a full-time lap dog. She's happy to accompany her people on walks, car rides and any activity that means they're together. Posey is a compact girl and so low-maintenance that she's a natural to bring along almost anywhere. Once she settles in...she can be counted on for great behavior anywhere she goes. Posey is also great with other small dogs...she loves to gently play...or just hanging out together in the sunshine would also make her happy. Posey is just searching for the committed and kind family that she's never had the good fortune to call her own. Once she feels safe, she gives 100% to her relationships and loves her family deeply. We envision Posey with a retired couple or individual who would choose a snuggly, cuddly dog as a full-time companion. Posey would fill this role perfectly...she would give her heart and soul to please and be in the company of her favorite people. Since Posey requires just a bit of exercise at her small size, she would be perfect for those who choose a dog for their friendship and ease to bring anywhere. She'll never be a long-distance hiker but really enjoys her walks and can do very well for quite a ways...and then could fit into a backpack to enjoy the view from above. She also could be a simple take-along on a plane. She'd fit perfectly under the seat and would be a great companion for vacations or long-distance visits. Posey is a barely shedding kind of girl...we feel that with bathing/brushing and excellent nutrition, her coat will become healthier with minimal shedding.
Posey will be arriving on transport in Denver on 2/8. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and very devoted companion.
