My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The story of Cocoa and Bo is a sadly common one. They were the beloved companions of a very elderly couple who could no longer care for them. They'd had them since they were babies - Cocoa is 8 years old and weighs about 11 lbs....Bo is 9 years old and weighs 10 lbs. Shih Tzus, if given great care, can live to a very ripe old age...17+ years old is not unheard of... these guys have many active years left! As their guardians got a bit older, the realization came that they could no longer care for these extremely loving and perfect companions. Our Oklahoma rescuer was contacted in hopes of helping Cocoa and Bo find a forever family where they would be nurtured and adored just as they always had been. The relatives hoped that the brothers would not have to go to a shelter...we couldn't have agreed more! Sad and tearful goodbyes were said and Cocoa and Bo were on their way for a full physical (absolutely healthy!) and to a foster home to be loved and given belly rubs. They settled in and have the greatest of personalities and perfect house behavior. The fact that was immediately obvious was that Cocoa and Bo were completely bonded! Their relationship was very fun and soothing to them..while they couldn't love human attention more - they're also very capable of keeping each other entertained. They're a very low-maintenance pair..so happy with each other and so devoted and loving with those who are kind to them. We made the immediate decision that this was most definitely a bonded pair and we needed to honor the power of their relationship. We're searching for a very loving and gentle family...it seems that a retired couple or individual would be perfect for these 2. If given the time and opportunity...Bo and Cocoa would be the most bonded and devoted family members anyone could imagine. They would be overjoyed with leisurely walks with their favorite people as they greet the other walkers with a wag and a smile. These brothers are very portable..they'd be great travelers by car or under the seat on a plane. They're very easy to take along just about anywhere...they're so happy and positive. Once they know they're at their final stop, they will have their dreams come true. We know that anyone who is searching for loyal lap dogs... who will return love their love a million times over... will fall in love with our awesome duo. These are non-shedding pups and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep their coats healthy and matt-free. Bo and Cocoa will be arriving on transport in Denver on 3/8. Applications are currently being accepted for this bonded pair who will bring twice the love and companionship to their lucky forever family.
