My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Raine reminds us of a flower just waiting to burst open...and all the love and devotion will come pouring out that has been held inside for so long. Raine is just a bit shy..but a hug and acknowledgement of how much he's loved will warm him up almost immediately. And then a bit of time and assurance...Raine will bond with all the feelings that live inside of him. Raine is a gorgeous Wheaten/Tibetan who will have the silky-soft and flowing coat of his breed mix after he gets a well-deserved grooming along with great nutrition. We hope to post a photo of Raine after his bath/haircut to show the beauty of this special guy. He's waited forever for a nurturing and responsible home to call his own. His days at a high-kill shelter are now forgotten as he looks toward a future of love and security. His great temperament was recognized at the shelter and earned him a ticket to a new life in Colorado. When spoken to kindly, Raine's tail will start to wag slowly...then joyously! He will wait for your invitation to embrace ...and from that point on...he's hooked. Raine is never pushy or needy...just gentle with every great intention. At approximately 3 years old and 33 lbs, Raine would be the perfect partner for hiking and snowshoeing the Colorado trails. Snow is incredible when you're from southern Texas and have never enjoyed this amazing winter fun. Raine was never given the benefit of leash-walking or positive-reinforcement group obedience class..it would be perfect for this guy who wants to please and could truly be a star student. It would also create greater bonding with all involved family members.. It appears he will be very easy and willing to train when he understands what is being asked of him. We picture a family for Raine that will enjoy time spent together. They will nurture him with love and exercise and enjoy the busy days and snuggly nights right along with him. Raine does well at settling in after a walk or some playful fun...a seat on the couch next to his favorite person (or people) is just fine with this well-balanced guy. Raine would also enjoy the company of a respectful canine..time spent together in the yard, on a walk or just hanging out in the sun would be wonderful for Raine. We'd like Raine to find his forever home with a family with older dog-crazy kids...or active retirees who have the time to enjoy his great energy and to provide him with the socialization for him to be comfortable in every situation. It doesn't get much better than to have a happy and well-behaved pup as a loyal and devoted companion. This would bring Raine his greatest joy to be accepted as a best friend...maybe to ride shotgun around town either just running errands or stopping at dog-friendly spots for belly rubs and kind words. Raine's skills are growing stronger each day that he's out in the world...he would be so proud to be treasured by his favorite people. Raine appears to be a non-shedder (or very light shedder...no more than 2 hairs on a black sweater) and with grooming and great nutrition, his coat will grow in cotton-soft and matt-free.

Raine will be transported to Denver on 3/20. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving and exceptional companion.
