Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It isn't everyday that a dog gets the honor of MAYOR'S DOG OF THE WEEK. Flynn was selected from the 400 or so canine population at the high-kill shelter in Houston to receive this Mayor's award. Flynn, at just 1 year old and 24 lbs, has the engaging personality and sweet, loving way that attracts both humans and dogs to him. He's very popular at the shelter - the other pups treat him like a celebrity and all want to be his friend. He takes it all in stride.. maintaining his sweet nature and getting a bit more attention because he's so very pleasant. Flynn has now left the shelter and has been introduced to his Texas foster home while he waits for his transport to Denver. It's during this time period that Flynn is reminded of his house skills and fine-tunes his already great socialization skills. He's so unusually well- developed for a rescue pup in a tough situation, we feel that he had been truly loved in his life. He shows no sign of ever being intimidated by a human or dog - he just goes about his life with a big smile and positive outlook. We are searching for either a dog-crazy family with children 10+ who would enjoy Flynn's young energy and would love a furry friend to accompany them. He'd be great at the soccer field or as a school mascot (he was a middle school mascot in Texas and loved it!) He'd also be the best companion ever for an active retired couple or individual. Flynn would be overjoyed with walking the beautiful Colorado trails and is the perfect size for hiking, snowshoeing or any dog-friendly activity. At day's end, he can wind down quickly and be a great couch companion...he'd love the belly rubs and positive attention that comes with being a best friend.
Flynn is a lightly shedding dog and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his golden coat healthy and as shed-free as possible. Flynn is not suggested for those with severe allergy concerns.
Flynn is being fostered in Denver. Applications are being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up for this exceptional companion.
