Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Every time we see Camillo, we break out in an ear to ear grin. This high spirited little imp was just surrendered by his loving owners, along with his reluctant paramour, Cosis, when a human child entered the picture and turned their world upside down.
Camillo appears to be a Miniature Pinscher, but we are sensing some Italian Greyhound DNA lurking in that snappy Black and Tan exterior. Camillo's stance reveals a slightly curved spine, with an elongated neck, floppy ear tips, pointed muzzle, and extremely delicate features, that we associate with the Italian Greyhound.
In temperment, Camillo also resembles the IG, in the perpetual nervous tizzy that plagues him. He lacks the in-your-face confidence that we love in our Min Pin "King of the Toys." Yet, Camillo is a nosy little guy, who manages to insert himself in the thick of every occurrence that is absolutely none of his business. He will rush in amongst the large dogs, squeak out his "two cents" before ducking for cover when his larger housemates engage him. Either he is a Gemini, or our guess of MinPin/IG lineage is spot on.
We'd like to see Camillo join a quiet adult home, with a single or couple, who have small dog experience and enjoy a comical little imp as a lifetime companion. Camillo likes other dogs and blends in nicely to a small dog pack, but is intimidated by larger dogs. He has a small dose of the Napoleon complex, and if not protected from himself, he will draw the ire of large rambunctious dogs to his detriment.
Camillo is a quick and agile little dog, and at the age of 4 or 5, has a lot of energy and needs a fair amount of exercise. He weighs just 6 pounds and would be a natural for the peewee agility circuit. This type of high-energy activity would go a long way toward calming his nervous nature, and would build his confidence. Camillo could also benefit from a formal obedience course, which will help him focus and provide a mental workout. He is very motivated by treats and praise, so any positive reinforcement program would suit him beautifully.
Camillo is in excellent health and has been neutered. He is vaccinated for routine shots and his heartworm negative. If you are interested in Camillo, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more info.
