My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wilson is a handsome, tall, loyal, and very strong, eight-year-old, 70-pound, male, shepherd-mix looking for a loving guardian.

Wilson was living with an elderly woman who passed away in her home. Sadly, he was found days later in the home with her dead body. He was brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control where he was almost euthanized. Lucky for him, Famous Fido’s came to his rescue.

Once you know Wilson, he is such a loving and smart dog. He is full of tail wags and kisses for those he adores. He is extremely protective of his people and afraid of those that he does not know, so you can just imagine how petrified he was in a cage in a crowded shelter. The woman Wilson lived with was a recluse and a hoarder, so she had no visitors and Wilson had no exposure to anyone but his best friend.

Wilson would do best with an experienced and patient dog-lover willing to continue his training. Wilson is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Wilson, please fill in the online application at http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by contacting Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescues of Famous Fido’s. The rescue has dogs of all sizes and ages looking for loving guardians. They spend their days at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Make an appointment to stop in and meet some of these lovable souls.
