Jerry's Story...
Jerry Jerusalem is a handsome, playful, friendly and lively ten-year-old, 75-pound, male, German Shepherd looking for a loving guardian.

Jerry was dropped off at an Aurora kennel when his family had financial problems. They lost their home and would often come by the kennel to pay their bill and visit their dog. Sadly, it’s been almost a year and the family stopped visiting and stopped paying their boarding fee.

Jerry is now looking for a new loving family. He may be ten years old – technically a senior, but he is full of life and love. He is not at all intimidating or hesitant with new people. He’s great with other dogs and lived with a black Labrador who sadly passed away while boarding at the same kennel – possibly due to bloat.

Jerry sits on command and can catch a treat mid-air. He loves tennis balls and can play endless games of fetch. He rides well in the car and he is now looking for a true shepherd-lover to take him under their wing for his golden years.

Jerry is healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested. If you are interested in adopting him, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net or 708-224-1900. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. He is currently kenneled in Aurora, Illinois.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jerry, a Chicago German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Chicago, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
