My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we take a walk with Gina, it turns into a love-fest....there's virtually no one we pass that doesn't stop to ask about Gina and pet her beautiful golden face with one adorable ear up and one flopped over...as if listening to all the new sounds in her world. She just seems to have that effect on people...maybe it's her beauty (both inside and out) or maybe it's because she seems like an old, wise soul - at just about 1.5 - 2 years old and 24 lbs, she appears to have more wisdom than her years would indicate. That most likely comes with having a tough start in life...and now that she's safe and sound...she's checking the world out for all its wonder and possibility. Gina is initially an energetic girl (anyone in the mood for a walk or just fun at the park?) but will happily settle down once she's had some exercise and interaction with her favorite people. She's very happy to climb into a lap or settle in after a tail wag and a lick. We've never seen Gina be yappy or be difficult to spend time with. She wants to please and seems to be searching for that relationship she can count on. We'd like Gina to be in a home with an active retired couple or individual who like spending time with their pup. We'd love Gina to be with a family that has interest in obedience classes....she would learn important skills and it would create greater bonding between Gina and her people. Gina is a non-shedding dog and will ultimately have gorgeous golden hair that will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy and matt-free. Gina is arriving on transport in Denver on May 30, 2014. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and sweet companion.
