My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There are many, many Cairn/Poo lovers in the dog world...it's considered to be one of the more desirable breed mixes. This is due to their consistent temperaments and intelligence (some would say this is the Poodle's contribution to the mix). There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their cotton-soft, flowing hair and soft and expressive eyes. Clyde is a fawn and cream-colored mix with apricot touches..gorgeous! He is just about 2-3 years old, about 20 lbs and so sweet . Clyde's current mom had the following to say about this great companion: --Clyde is a love bug and lives to cuddle on the couch. He would be the greatest companion ever for an adult-only home. There's no dog more loyal to his family members...so devoted that it's touching. Clyde loves to run like the wind and play outside with toys, squirrels or the kids. He jumps for joy at the sight of the leash for his walks. It's unfortunate that we adopted Clyde when all our time is being spent working full-time jobs and dealing with 3 young children. We love him so much but can't provide Clyde with what he needs. Our household is very loud, overwhelming and very, very busy. We love you Clyde and want you to go to a home that loves you more than anything. They would need to have the time to play with you, spend time snuggling on the couch and take you to obedience classes. We said we would do that, but sadly we didn't have time for that either. With guidance and boundaries, you would be the best ever!--
We will only consider a quiet, dog-savvy adult home for Clyde. They will understand that this guy has been a bit traumatized by the frenetic activity of his current family and will have the patience and desire to be a leader for Clyde. They will teach him trust as well as boundaries. Clyde passed the tough temperament tests of a Colorado shelter with no problem...it appears that he's currently operating through fear. Constant activity, kids visiting and loud noises have intimidated him...he has tried to cope by snapping...a behavior he had never chosen in the past. It is for these reasons that we feel Clyde needs to decompress and bond with active retirees. He would love spending the days hiking or hanging out in a peaceful environment with a loving, patient family.
Clyde is a non-shedding guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony coat healthy and matt-free..
Clyde is being fostered in Denver. We're currently accepting applications and setting up Meet & Greets for this exceptional and very loving adult companion.
