My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You know that we all have our favorites...maybe it's the pup that snuggles a bit closer or (once he's bonded) and wags his entire body when he sees you simply because he can't contain how much he loves you. These descriptions would be Coby. His Texas rescuers were set on saving this sweet boy's life. Coby got caught in an extremely overcrowded shelter system that doesn't have the time or personnel to deal with the little guy in the dark cage... wagging his tail so hopefully. Coby's great temperament (active and engaging) and his sweet eyes that were so pleading were his ticket to a new life. He was vetted and brought to a Texas foster home to get the attention he always deserved and to work on his house skills. Coby was ready to for his trip to Colorado - a bit wiser and so excited about new possibilities We feel like Coby might have been treated unkindly during his short life...he's a bit fearful when new things are asked of him. We feel that with patience and kindness that Coby will understand that there's no intention to hurt him. Coby never hesitates to put his best self forward...that is an engaging personality and enthusiasm for his favorite people or canine friends We can't forget that Coby, at 10 lbs and approximately 5 - 8 months old is still learning and his behavior will not have the consistent maturity of a dog who's already learned the ropes. He's a blank slate waiting to be led. Being a puppy still, Coby is open to new ideas with new ways of approaching challenges...he just needs a human who is clear with a young pup. Coby would benefit from positive reinforcement group training classes so he can be given clear guidelines and fun socialization. It would also cement the relationship with his family so Coby will understand that he is loved and accepted. Coby would be a great take-along pup for retirees who desire the loving and cuddly presence of a furry guy. They would need to provide him with the exercise and mental stimulation that every well-adjusted young pup should have. They couldn't, however, let his incredible cuteness get to them - they would need to provide leadership so this young guy knows what they're asking of him - he will then be an exceptional partner and devoted companion.
Coby is a non-shedding pup and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Coby is being fostered in Denver - applications are currently being accepted and Meet & Greets being set up for this sweet and cuddly adult companion.
