Sweet Diane found herself at an overcrowded, high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas. This super-friendly girl was brought in after being found as a stray. At the shelter, Diane was recognized for being the sweetest, and friendliest dog.
A plea email for this girl was immediately sent out to us, to see if we could take her into our rescue before she would be up for her turn on the euthanasia list at the shelter. Just look at this sweet girl...we knew we had to help her!
Diane is a GORGEOUS Yellow Lab mix, and believed to have some Beagle in her as well. Diane is 1 year old, and full grown at 55 lbs.
Diane has the perfect temperament to accompany her family just about everywhere a dog is welcome. She will fit right into virtually every situation due to her very sweet personality.
As Diane becomes comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and show her personality more and more. It takes rescue dogs a few days typically to feel comfortable in a new home, given all that they have been through.
Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training.
We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area.
Diane is up to date on her vetting/vaccinations and spayed, to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.

We own a pet boutique named Farfel's Farm & Rescue on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. We have had the good fortune to find our niche in the Boulder community and experience success. We felt it very important to "pay it forward" in gratitude. We couldn't think of a better endeavor than to save dogs who were out of time in the southern states, yet had been identified with great temperaments. We dedicate our efforts to their good health and ultimate wonderful, permanent homes.
