Booker looked out from his dark cage on the death row aisle of a dismal Texas shelter - his eyes were bright and revealed a soft plea that begged for release from his prison. Farfel's TX rescuer couldn't help herself and quietly unlatched the lock and scooped Booker into her arms. She still speaks of the moment...Booker snuggled into her and stared into the face of his savior. There was no question that he was thanking her with his entire soul. Booker trotted joyfully from the shelter and jumped without hesitation into the car..and sighed deeply. He was finally safe! He was brought for the typical exams and vetting....he had a perfect physical! He is now happily up to date on his vaccinations. In an effort to find a perfectly wonderful home for this exceptional companion, we have determined (with Booker's foster's help) our goals in his match. Booker is a 9 months to 1 year old, 16 lb guy who is so sweet and devoted...we envision him with loving and committed retirees or a dog-crazy family with children 12+. He would be overjoyed to cuddle on the couch and just simply relish his happiness at finally having a family. What a great companion to come along on family activities (perhaps a day in the park?) He's so happy to be included...his foster has enjoyed him riding shotgun as he kept her company on her errands around town. He would be very appropriate to take along on walks along beautiful Colorado trails (although Booker doesn't require huge amounts of exercise) or a visit with dog-loving friends...this would serve him in furthering his socialization education. In return, he will bestow tons of love and devotion on his people...it's just waiting inside of this adorable guy to give with all his heart. Booker gets along very well with dogs of similar size who are respectful and kind. He's never been around very active, rambunctious dogs and we think we should keep it that way.
Booker is a lightly shedding guy who will require periodic sudsy baths and brushing to keep his coat as shed-free as possible and SO silky-soft .
