The very first thing our rescuer noticed about Cash was his gorgeous eyes in the dim shelter light. She stared at Cash for a bit and saw all the wonderful possibilities in this gorgeous King Charles Cavalier mix. This photo definitely doesn't do this exceptional guy justice! A spa day is in order - underneath the shelter matts and filth is an exceptional white Cavalier/Doxie mix with apricot running through his cottony hair. Cash immediately made it clear that he's a LOVE! His adorable little nose sniffed shyly through the bars at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile. Cash was brought out of his cage.. and before you know it, he was in our rescuer's lap. He was shy and a bit frightened but was so happy for the hug and sense of safety. This 8-month old, 9 lb cutie-pie truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious belly rubs and kind words will send him over the moon. Cash wants to be a people dog...with a bit of post-shelter confidence and love...he will be overjoyed that he's finally found his forever family. We are searching for an adult-only home or a home with older kids 12+ for this very kind pup. It's not that Cash doesn't like young children.. but he can become overwhelmed by rowdiness and very loud voices - therefore a family with very young kids will not be considered. We envision Cash with a retired couple or individual who want an adorable young dog as a family member and companion. He would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his people....he's quiet and mellow enough to spend some afternoon time snoozing on the couch or would even happier to go for a long walk on mountain trails or neighborhood paths....just as long as he's with his person. He would also be a perfect office dog in a dog-friendly workplace....he would be well behaved and respectful (as long as he can sleep on your feet...great foot warmer) He can have moments of shyness from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great pup past any insecure feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned again.
