Here's what the humans have to say about me:
http://www.valleydogs.org/cp_pete-danelab.html -- Hello! My name is Pete. Life has been looking up for me lately, but things would be perfect if I could find a home to call my own.
In my former life, I was beaten and starved. Then, I was pushed out of a car and left to fend for myself in the hot summer sun. Life on the streets was rough. After about a week, I was taken in by a couple who didn’t want to see me suffer. They are taking care of me until I can find my own home.
I am housebroken; I am crate-trained; and I look up at whoever is nice enough to pet me with the most soulful eyes! I love to lie next to people on the couch and watch TV (I do take up a good bit of space, but I would be happy to lay across your lap!). I am very curious when out on walks and I love riding in the car. I absolutely adore food. I think it is my favorite part of every day!
I also love to play with squeaky balls. Click or go here for http://youtu.be/jkprTo4c_rA VIDEO. I entertain myself by taking the ball in my mouth, throwing it up in the air, and prancing around like a show pony! If anyone’s watching, I’m not the only one who’s entertained!
I get along with my foster brother and sister in the house, but sometimes, my foster brother gets a little irritated with me when I bump into him (my body is just so big – I lose track of it some times!) My foster brother is a little cranky and doesn’t like to share; that is one reason I will be happy to find a family of my own.
I am practicing “sit” and “stay” every day. Sometimes I can be a little bit stubborn, but I am making progress. I am learning to behave better on a leash and I improve with every outing, but whoever walks me needs to be strong. If I see a cat, I will be a little obsessed and want to go catch it.
I need structure, routine, good walks, tasty food, and chest rubs (they are the best!). If you think you can give me all those things, I can give you all the big sloppy kisses that you can handle! I have had a tough start and I really think I deserve a home where I can be safe and happy.
