Anna is a classic black & tan smooth coat Dachshund. At four years old, she is very healthy, active, and in the prime of her life. Anna is very affectionate and enjoys long walks at the park where she is more often than not to befriend another dog or person. She dotes on other dogs in her pack, especially the males. When she returns home she is quite happy to curl up in a laundry basket to sleep in the clean linens. She awakens every day with a broad smile on her face ready to do whatever the day calls for. She is outgoing and friendly, while remaining loyal to her pack. Anna is a regal dog and enjoys being the “queen” of the household. She is housetrained and has never had an accident in her foster household. Her affect is bright eyed and bushy tailed and enjoys doing whatever her human is currently doing. She is fairly independent and is content to rest for a few hours or play at the park for a while depending on her Foster Dad’s schedule. She is well loved and reciprocates that love 10 fold every day in any way she can. Anna would be an excellent addition to nearly any family.

Anna will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
