My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Kansas rescuer in saving Travis...she could see that his temperament was so loving and calm that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized. Travis was immediately brought to be vetted and temperament tested...he passed both with flying colors and was brought to a great Kansas foster home to begin his education around house manners and socialization. It turns out that Travis, at only 8 weeks old and almost 9 lbs (expected to be about 30+ pounds when full-grown), is so calm and cooperative that it's been a fun & rewarding experience for his foster mom. He loves everyone and is just a snuggle bug! Travis, as a baby, is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Travis continues a regiment of socialization and classes that promote positive relationships with other dogs & bonding with his people...Travis will become a well-adjusted and very devoted adult companion. Travis is a gorgeous puppy(sorry for an awful photo) with a shining coat that speaks of good puppy health. His calm demeanor is just who he is...he's just more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If you pass his wise assessment of your being kind and respectful...Travis is your very best friend and is very interested in some serious bonding. If Travis is treated with love and given clear behavioral guidelines, he will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Travis. Since he will be approximately 30+ lbs when full-grown (his mom is said to be a Standard Schnauzer), we also feel it's very important that Travis is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He will be a perfect size to enjoy hiking and snowshoeing in the Colorado mountains. We'd also like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Travis can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. Travis will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to his very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Travis's neuter, microchip and any additional puppy shots he might require. Travis appears to be a non-shedding guy and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his coat cotton-soft and healthy.

Travis will arrive on transport on8/18. If interested in this exceptional companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
