Keifer's Story...
Keifer is a one-year-old, 11-pound, male silky sweet, golden-eyed, Maine Coon-mix looking for a loving home.

Keifer lost him home when his family moved to a new house and didn’t bring him along. He has been living with me gets along with the eight other cats in residence – from tiny kittens to the elderly. He enjoys the company of other cats and older children and would probably be happiest in a home with a companion feline. He’s never lived with dogs before, but would probably be fine with a gentle-natured dog.

Keifer is playful, athletic and has perfect litter box habits. He’d probably do well with someone who wouldn’t mind brushing his magnificent coat on a regular basis.

Keifer is very healthy, neutered, virus-tested, de-wormed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. To meet and possibly Keifer, please contact me directly at sheri@petraits.com or 773-777-2891. His adoption fee of $75 benefits rescued pets. He is currently living with me in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keifer, a Chicago Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
