Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We don't know the reason why a beautiful and very loving dog gets dumped in Houston, TX...but there he was wandering in an area he couldn't have gotten to by himself. Marcus was brought to BARC Animal Shelter.. truly the unimaginable for a young, very frightened dog who had never been exposed to this reality. The thought of this precious 2.5 - 3-year old pup having his life taken at a scary shelter was unbearable to us. We responded to his need immediately and sprang him from his dark prison. He was overjoyed! His personality emerged within moments of freedom..and a bit of hugging and treats. This Poodle/Lhasa mix is an amazing one...we wish we could clone his calm (considering what he's been through) and super-gentle demeanor. He's a lap-dog extraordaire... and just a love who was able to leave the horrors of his life behind and emerge with the most positive outlook and passion for all humans and respectful canines. Marcus doesn't seem to get upset or disturbed by much...he just takes things as they come and puts his best foot (or paw) forward. It's now time for this great and devoted spirit to settle down with a family who will love and care for him permanently. He would be delighted with an active individual (or couple or family with older children) who would enjoy the outdoors with Marcus...at 14 lbs, he's the perfect size for long walks in the Colorado mountains yet small enough to be scooped up and brought along to any dog-friendly situation. His behavior is SO endearing that he's hard to resist for anyone who has a soft spot for dogs. We envision Marcus in a home that chooses to spend their time with their fuzzy companion. He would be very unhappy if left at home alone for long hours...a few hours are fine but much more than that... he'd miss his people too much. He'd also enjoy the company of another friendly and respectful dog during his alone time.
Marcus is a non-shedding Poodle mix (considered to be among the most hypoallergenic of breed mixes) and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic baths/brushing to keep his gorgeous cotton-like coat soft and healthy.
Marcus will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/22. If interested in this adorable and sweet companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
