This adorable little guy is Chucky, a Havanese mix that is only a little over a year old. Chucky came to us from our Newark facility when he was turned in because his owners were not allowed to keep him where they lived. Chucky was just heartbroken when he first arrived. It was obvious that he was so upset to be uprooted from the only home he had ever known and brought to an unfamiliar place. He just curled up in a little ball and kept to himself at first. We gave him lots of extra attention and TLC and now, well, look at that smile! Chucky has come out of his little shell and put his past behind him, and he's loving life once again. Chucky is still a bit shy when he meets new people but once he gets to know you, he's incredibly friendly, outgoing, and lovable. He stands on his little hind legs to get your attention and his tail is just a blur as it wags like crazy. Chucky is playful and fun-loving and has a blast chasing after toys in our exercise yard. He is well mannered and walks perfectly on a leash, and even sits nicely when asked. Chucky is selective with which dogs he likes and he will need a home with no children under the age of 10. This little sweetheart is eager to start his life over with a loving family that will cherish him always and never let him go. File#23793 8/6/14
