My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It seems that everyone loves Schnauzer/Poodle mixes or Schnoodles as they're lovingly known (they rank in the top 5 of the most popular breed mixes). We do...especially if they're as sweet and so very loving as Piper . She was acknowledged at a high-kill Texas shelter for having a great personality and being so wonderful to love on and cuddle. This recognition is a tough feat considering this facility holds up to 500 dogs with a very high daily turn-in rate. Piper, at about 9 - 12 months old and 8 lbs is an exceptionally beautiful Schnoodle! You can tell when you look into her expressive eyes that her short life has held sadness and challenges..but she would never be one to carry that around. Piper loves her humans. While initially shy...give her a moment! Piper's great energy makes you melt. As she gains trust... before you know it, this sweet Schnoodle is in your lap letting you know you are her number 1 love! We can't think of a better or more devoted companion for retirees or a family with gentle kids 12+. Piper would be a kind and respectful family member...she loves her people so much that she desires to behave to the best of her ability. She simply needs to understand what is being asked of her..once she's clear, she truly wants to comply. We think Piper would be very successful in positive reinforcement group obedience classes. She would naturally bond with her family while learning skills that will make her a well-trained member of the community. She desires be a long-term best friend who will always be waiting at the door with a happy tail and a kiss of greeting.
Piper will fit in with a family or individual who wants a sweet, furry girl as a companion. At just 8 lbs, she's so easy to scoop up and take along on errands or better yet... outdoor adventures. Piper loves the sunshine and would be overjoyed with a leisurely walk, a fenced yard or a sunny porch. She is more than happy to engage in anything her guardian has in mind ...and smiles with joy at being included.
We feel strongly that leaving Piper alone at home for many, many hours wouldn't work for this sensitive girl. She's so pleasant...and would be just about perfect with the benefit of consistent socialization and clear boundaries. Piper would truly be a gift to anyone searching for a playful and extremely devoted best friend.

Piper will be arriving on transport on 10/10. If interested in this adorable and sweet companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
