Meet Tanner! He is an adorable little Miniature Pinscher/Wirehaired Terrier Mix. This sweetheart is affectionate and loving and he's looking for that special family to snuggle with and give an abundance of kisses to.
Tanner is a great with other dogs. He is a very playful, young dog who loves to run and play. He is friendly, upbeat, and learning lots of new tricks. As for feline friends, it depends. He likes to pick on his younger sister, but has a respect for the older and larger cat in his foster home. Otherwise, he is well behaved in the home. He is great in public when it comes to greeting new people and other animals. He is even well behaved in the stores that welcome him!
Tanner is an absolutely wonderful and loving dog. In fact, his foster mom says - "Some of Tanner's favorite past times are playing, giving kisses, snuggling in bed, and quietly napping on a lap while watching TV. He has never had an accident or marked in the house since arriving." He is doing great in his foster home, but is waiting for his forever family to find him!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
