Whenever a Poodle or Poodle mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that pups of this mix are so loving and very smart and devoted. They tend to make great family companions and we particularly like guys like Haze for retirees who desire the companionship and loyalty of a devoted pup. Sometimes reduce dogs can be a bit shy....but put Haze in a home with an involved and very loving family and frequent socialization...and he will shine! Haze is about 2.5 years old and currently weighs 12 lbs..a perfect weight for a lap dog or a take along guy to scoop up in your arms and head off for an adventure. As a young guy, Haze is a blank slate just waiting for a forever family to teach him the wonders of his world. If he is trained with positive reinforcement, given tons of kind attention, socialization with both humans and other dogs...he will turn into a self-confident guy who will be a wonderful companion - He has all the elements working in his favor since he's starting out with a great temperament and a puppyish desire to please.
We'd like to place Haze in a home with either retirees or a very involved family with older kids (12+ would be great) who is motivated to take him to group Obedience class to bring out all the wonderful qualities that are in this Poodle mix. Haze would love being out in the sunshine walking the trails of Colorado, window-shopping on Pearl Street to fine-tune his urban skills and being a very present companion all through the day. With love and consistency, Haze will also be comfortable with being alone and know that his family will always return. He'll learn this with consistent behavior and kind boundaries present in his life.
Haze is a non-shedding guy and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed mixes. He will therefore require periodic grooming and excellent nutrition to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free.
