Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our adorable Koko Taylor is a dimunitive Diva bursting with charm. She came to us as an extremely obese girl, from owners who religiously fed the "LOVE" (one bite for me, one bite for you) calorie dense diet. This willy nilly gastronomic approach is always a dangerous proposition for dogs, particularly ones with small statures and tiny joints.
Koko Taylor came to us at a whopping 18 pounds....11 over her ideal weight! After a switch to nutrient dense grainfree kibble, coupled with a brisk walking regimen, Koko slimmed down to a healthy 7 pounds in no time, and made her foster Mom extremely envious! She is a petite cutie now, who is a divine lap dog that won't thwart the circulation her adopter's thighs!
Koko has a perky personality that will complement the active lifestyle of a single or couple. Eight years old, Koko is a mature adult dog, past the puppy mayhem period, who behaves like a giddy schoolgirl on occasion. Koko can get all wound up when there's alot of action, but then simmers down nicely when its time to relax. She is the consummate companion dog, and loves to be with her person. Koko can easily sustain herself during the workday as a solo apartment dog, or as part of a multi-dog or cat pack.
Koko is a friendly girl, who does well with folks of all ages, but since Koko is a fragile little soul, interaction with unpredictable toddlers should be supervised carefully. Koko loves action, and loves to be smack dab in the middle of it. She is polite to strangers, and has a personality suited to travel.
Koko has been well cared for in her life, albeit overfed, but her obedience training has been overlooked. We have begun teaching her the basics commands: Sit, Down, and expanding her patience with Stay. She would do well in a formal obedience course and is sociable enough to co-mingle nicely with others.
Koko has excellent house manners, and like most Min Pins, is a snuggler under the bed covers. She is house trained, crate trained, as well as paper trained, but adopters must bear with Koko during her transition to a new routine. Adopters may find Koko fussy about going outdoors in the harsh winter weather to do her business. At best, she will need a fancy Diva coat, but at worst she will need an inside pee pad.
Koko is in excellent house and has been spayed. She has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). She has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been dewormed, and had a negative fecal test.
