My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's very often the unimaginable...what these wonderful and perfectly-tempermented dogs go through at the hands of non-thinking humans! Daphne is a perfect example of a truly great dog who had the misfortune of being the pet of uncaring humans. She ended up at a very high-kill Kansas shelter..her address on a rubbed-out tag turned out to be a closed-down gas station with no residents anywhere to be seen. Daphne was alone in the world at barely a year old with euthanasia in only a matter of hours. Farfel's Kansas rescuer sprang into action to save this truly exceptional puppy. Daphne is a wonderful girl...her joy in being hugged and given belly rubs on her silky-soft belly knows no bounds! At 9 lbs. Daphne would be the ideal companion for a super-loving (she deserves it!!) and committed family who enjoy the pure love and very loyal and devoted energy of a mini Eskimo Dog mix. We feel that Daphne would also enjoy the company of gentle kids 10+ (we wouldn't want her poked or her tail pulled by young children since she's such a petite girl) as well as other dogs. She loves to play with both and can be counted on to never be aggressive but always sweet and kind in all of her encounters. While Daphne would love to run and romp outdoors with her family, she's definitely a house dog in her heart. She would love nothing more than to be a full time companion...be it on the couch as a foot-warmer or in the car riding shotgun on errands or visits with dog-friendly friends. It would be Daphne's greatest joy to be appreciated as a great pup...but more important...as a full-fledged member of a family. Dahlia would not be happy with a family of full-time workers where she would spend many hours alone. She would blossom just being included in the action....she would never choose to let anyone down and would always try her hardest to have the best behavior around.
Although we've requested a spay appointment prior to Daphne's transport to Colorado, that sometimes isn't possible due to far too few vets in this rural section of Kansas. If Daphne can't be fixed, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for spaying and a microchip after Daphne's arrival in Denver.
Daphne has the most beautiful white coat ever that is made for winter warmth. It needs to be cared for by providing her with great nutrition and periodic brushing and bathing...this will minimize shedding as well as keeping her coat shining, cotton-soft and very healthy.

Daphne will arrive on transport in Denver on Tuesday 12/9/14. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this sweet and devoted companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
