Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This darling little lady is Lily, a 4 year old chihuahua that is hoping for a family to fall in love with her and give her the home of her dreams. Lily had a home at some point but somehow, she became a stray on the busy city streets of Newark. No one ever came looking for little Lily, so she was sent down to us at Popcorn Park to search for a new home. Poor Lily was extremely shy when she arrived and just wanted to keep to herself. She had a bad cold though, and was being treated in our isolation area so Lily went for several walks daily with our staff. With every walk, Lily came out of her shell a little more. Finally, she had her little breakthrough and decided that keeping to herself is not nearly as great as being with good people that treat her with kindness. Lily is now healthy and happy, and loves all of the friends that she has made. She is still a bit shy with meeting new people, but once she checks you out and sees that you're okay, she'll be your best friend and do the wiggle-butt dance if you scratch her back. Because Lily has a bit of typical chihuahua-tude, she will need a home with no children under 10, but she doesn't seem to mind other dogs and would just love to be a lap-dweller if you'll let her. Little Lily is hoping for a fresh start in life with a loving family that will never leave her cold and alone again. File#24004 10/6/14
