Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What a happy and carefree Schnauzer/Cairn baby our Rowan is! At only about 4 - 5 months old and just about 7 lbs ( we expect a full-grown weight of about 12 - 14 lbs), Rowan is one of the most loving and engaging puppies we know. We're all aware that when the wag starts at the tail and becomes a full-blown body wiggle...that Rowan is greeting either a beloved friend or anyone who has the potential to be a future playmate. He is so warm and friendly that he always hopes every pat and kind word will turn into a lifelong friend. Both humans and other dogs are drawn to Rowan for his very positive attitude and silly antics coupled with a personality that is so engaging. No human friend can possibly keep from petting Rowan's sweet face and enjoying his obvious love affair with life. Other dogs seem to gravitate to Rowan as well..they seem to really enjoy his playfulness that is never aggressive...only fun-loving and active. Rowan would fit best into a family with the time and desire to work with a young pup. He is well on his way to being housebroken...just needing some consistent guidance in a new home. Rowan is engaging with kids (we prefer older kids 10+..no tail-pulling or awkward carrying please) and enjoys gentle, smaller dogs.
We'd like to match Rowan to either active retirees or a family that chooses to spend lots of time with an adorable puppy. He would be such a positive force..playing hard and then searching for a loving lap to cuddle up on. This guy is truly lap-dog extraordinaire.
Rowan would benefit from group obedience class (as any dog does) that includes the whole family. Rowan is a super-smart dog who truly wants to please...these type of classes will bring out Rowan's great qualities and abilities to excel as a family dog and respectful member of the community.
Rowan is a non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) pup and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic baths/brushing to keep his shining coat healthy and as shed-free as possible.
We've requested that Rowan be neutered prior to transport. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's would be happy to cover all costs for this at our Denver vet.
Rowan will be arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 1/21/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and endearing pup, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302.
