My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adorable Dobbie and his five pack family came to our attention through a national Min Pin Rescue Group, whose ranks were over flowing, with no room left at the Inn! We were thrilled to have this spirited Min Pin family join us.

The five unaltered dogs had been brought to a rural Humane Society, along with several other Min Pin pups, by suspicious folks who claimed to have found them as strays. Isn't that the plot of a Disney movie? A pack of puppies scampering along after their parents, in the chilly, wintery countryside. Sounds like a plagerized version of 101 Dalmations.

The obvious truth seems to be that dubious backyard breeders surrendered their breeding pack, and claimed that they were strays, in order to avoid the SPCA surrender fee. Dobbie and his brother, Romo, were the youngest of the pack, and they were abandoned at the age of just three months, in the midst of a critical social development period. Both boys seemed insecure and frightened when they arrived, but Dobbie seemed to be the more outgoing of the two.

Dobbie is now almost six months old and has developed beautifully in foster care. He is a handsome red Min Pin, petite at 8 pounds, and has natural ears and tail. Raising a pup is a special responsibility, and Dobbie needs an experienced small dog afficianado, willing to step up and teach this bright youngster the ways of the world. Dobbie would be a great choice for a single, couple or family with older kids, who are ready to take on the challenges of a spirited pup.

Dobbie would thrive in a high energy active lifestyle that offers ample opportunity to socialize and experience the world. Puppy Kindergarten and continued obedience work will go along way to build Dobbie's confidence. Also, as an impressionable youngster, Dobbie would assimilate nicely into a stable dog pack, where he could pick up his social cues from older, well trained dogs. He has not been exposed to cats, but he is maleable enough at his young age to be taught to live peacefully in a feline household.

Dobbie has good house manners for a pup, but obviously, adopters must have appropriate expectations for a puppy. Dobbie is crate trained, but adopters are expected to troubleshoot his potty routine and puppy proof the house to avoid puppy destructive tendencies. Dobbie is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza, corona) and Bordatella. He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis, and he has been dewormed.
